Dayton, November 1, 2019: Wright Brothers Institute (WBI), along with the Air Force Small Business Innovative Research Program Office (AF SBIR/STTR), the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), and The Entrepreneurs Center (TEC) are seeking applications for the second cohort of the T3 Transition Accelerator. Accepted small businesses will experience 10-weeks of intensive curriculum, preparing their products for military and commercial markets with the goal of making innovative technologies easier to integrate into the Air Force.

Unlike traditional accelerators, the T3 Transition Accelerator takes no equity stake and companies retain all rights to their intellectual property. This significantly reduces the risk for participating companies, while providing high returns for the Air Force. Meghan Sheehan, Director of Commercialization services at Wright Brothers Institute says “Companies that have sound business practices, along with technological innovations, are the best value to the Air Force. This accelerator ensures that small businesses’ products are buyable and scalable.”

The Entrepreneurs Center (TEC), will be facilitating the accelerator curriculum. Leveraging the successes of last year’s cohort, TEC will align industry and academic mentors to participating companies, giving them a rapid and thorough market assessment. The Air Force Research Laboratory will provide technical expertise surrounding the four topics: UAS Structures, Turbine Engines and Sensors, as well as Space Systems. Companies will learn the ins and outs of the SBIR process with support from the Air Force SBIR/STTR Office.

The T3 Transition Accelerator is open to small businesses across the United States. 50% of the accelerator will take place in Dayton, while the other 50% will be facilitated remotely. Up to $35,000 in travel and expense reimbursements are available to selected companies. To learn more, please visit t3accelerator.com for details. Registration officially opens on November 1, 2019 and closes December 8, 2019.
